Udyam registration for a small business: what you need
A plain-language guide to getting an Udyam certificate for a shop, workshop or home business, and what it is (and is not) useful for.

Udyam registration recognises your business as a micro, small or medium enterprise. It is free on the official portal and uses your Aadhaar and PAN. Many banks and schemes ask for it when you apply for business loans or subsidies.
It is not the same as GST registration or a trade licence. Whether you also need those depends on your turnover, goods or services and local rules.
What you need
Aadhaar of the owner (with a mobile linked for OTP), PAN, business name and address, bank account details, the type of business and an estimate of investment and turnover.
How it works
The registration is done on the official Udyam portal, which issues a certificate with a permanent number. There is no government fee. We help you fill it correctly and download the certificate; our service charge is shown first.
Afterwards
Keep the certificate and update the portal when your details or business activity change. Use the number when applying for bank schemes.
Before you start
- Keep Aadhaar and PAN ready
- Have the bank account details
- Describe your business activity correctly
- Download and save the certificate
- Update the portal if details change
